About me
Hi, my name is Andy Argo! Originally from the UK, I am a seasoned traveller, adventurer and podcaster. I am happy to have left the rat race and decided to travel the world. I would describe myself as a slow-paced traveller, spending a lot of time in each country I visit – I am not someone who seeks to ‘tick off’ every country in the world. I travel to enjoy it, be spontaneous, try new things and live in the moment. So far, I have definitely not been disappointed! Although I enjoy cities to an extent, I find most happiness exploring wilderness and historical areas. Give me a motorbike road trip with a tent, some hiking boots and castles on mountains to get to any day! I particularly enjoy visiting places which few people have visited and not always following the classic tourist routes.
Since beginning my travels, many of my friends have asked me for advice and recommendations. I commonly get asked the following questions from my travelling friends, to name just a few:
- “Where should I travel next?”
- “What should I do in this country, and are there any hidden gems you are aware of?”
- “What preparation do I need to do before arriving at my destination?”
- “Is it safe there?”
- “Am I too old to travel?”
- “How do I fund travelling?”
I made this website to answer all of these questions and to demystify travelling.
I am a sucker for a great story! I have had more than a few adventures during my time on the road. I’ve found that the wilder the country, the wilder the people and the better the stories! I have met people of all ages and walks of life with unbelievable travelling tales to tell. Many people, including me, try to live in the moment and I find that these people have the craziest stories of them all. Stories which aren’t typically told on Instagram reels or long YouTube videos but are only available from the mouths of those who have lived them: it is for this reason that I started my podcast. In each episode, I interview travellers whose adventures will blow your mind and expose you to parts of this world that you, and often I, know little about.
So dive in! Take a look at my website, listen to my podcast, read my travel guides, subscribe to my social media and follow along. I hope you enjoy!
Happy travels!
Andy Argo
